Hey laz, i have a 2001 TJ 3.5 V6 Manual Sports.
It now has 116,000km and is due for a service (just oil and fluid changes)
I have bought some Penzoil Synthetic Blend 10w-40 for $34.00 for 5 Litres, i also bought Engine Flush and a Filter.
Does anyone else use this oil and would it be ok for my car? if not what would you reccommend?
P.S i have had 3 turbo cars in the last year and i always used Royal Purple on them but i didnt think a Magna would need that good a oil, so i just bought this Penzoil stuff, was that a good choice?

Thats my 2c for ya

10w-40 or 15w-50 should be fine mate
I do know of one member on here who spent $160 on redline oil for his 2nd gen 4cyl and found it fantastic....so in future maybe get that more expensive oil and just see how the car feels

Ugh not another one of these threads. (sorry):doubt:
Do a search dude, there are TONS of these threads.
I have even given charts of recommended oils.
All zooms down to your budget.
3rd gens and second gens should use semi synthetic grades.
3rd gens can go fully synthetic if wanted to.
Go the Penrite HPR10. Good stuff. Replace every 5000kms along with the oil filter.

I have bought some Penzoil Synthetic Blend 10w-40 for $34.00 for 5 Litres, i also bought Engine Flush and a Filter.
Am using Pennzoil model "SUV" which I think is a 10W40 too, in my TH 3.5 at 145,000km.
Engine sounds happy, no oil consumption last 4300km and no tappet rattling noticed.
SUV is about same pricerange too.

My younger KJ 3.5 57,000km runs Motul Turbolight... yea yeah, favoritism lol
I change every 5000.
