I was told there were only 1000 made, 250 blue, 250 burgundy and 500 white, is this true?
I was looking on Redbook and couldn’t find info on the EFI model. I had a blue Manual EFI.
I’ve also seen a red wagon with the same stripes and wheels but they were silver.
Dose anyone know any thing else about the Grand Tourer.
What combinations have people seen
GT - EFI Manual
GT - EFI Auto
GT - Carby Manual
GT - Carby Auto

They also came in wagons. When the tr magna came out there was no wagon so they made a Grand Tourer wagon to keep sales going untill the tr wagon was released. They are the executive wagon debadged (only says magna on the tailgate and no astron badges on the side fender)with e'lante alloys, pin stripping, front spoiler, roofracks and sports seats and single spoke steering wheel

The Gt sedans were apparantly brought out to celebrate mitsubishis tenth anniversay as an australian operation... (since taking over chrysler) Only an executive with elante suspension, which is apparently a bit better than normal. Front, rear spoiler, gold wheels, stripes and "sporty" interior.
There was only 1000 500 white, 250 blue etc.
However, there is nothing to signify them as a gt as in writing or badge or anything which is a bit of a let down. (one of mine has had stickers put on the side saying grand tourer)

september 89 1000 gt's were made for the 10th annivesary (bs)
and in nov 90 500 more gt's and 500 safari wagons were made.
so the safari's will be worth more in the future seeing as there were twice as many gt's than safari's.

The GT wagons have no signage saying GT like the sedans, they have the same pinstriping as the sedans and use the tp elant'e alloys as appossed the the gold elite style alloys.

to be honest i dont think ANY Magna will be worth MORE money in the future... but we can hope hehe!
The sedan grand tourers came out in september of 1990, not 89, ive had a few, and they all say that on the plate. Also there was nothing to suggest that the sedans were a GT either, ie:wasnt written on them.
As for tenth anniversary, thats what it says in my Mitusibishi in Australia, the early years, book but i would say that they are more of a stock run out as were the wagons, before the TR came out.
They used up old TN elite wheels and elante odd bits! But tenth anniversary sounds better for sure!
The Safaris are a different model than the grand tourer wagons too.
Someone also mentioned that they had carby options too? Being a TP, they wouldve been (everyone ive seen, heard of and had have been) fuel injected.
Its great to see so much interest in them!!

ok I'm only contributing what fact that I have seen myself...
When we bought our TN Exec, the Safari pack was available at roughly the same price.
Safari wagon was a GLX + EFiMulti, came in White with blue stripe decals,
colour coded hubcaps.
GTs were only made in TP, no earlier.
Uncle had a GT wagon in red; had "MAGNA" badge on tailgate that that's it - no others.
Inside looked pretty standard to all the other TP Execs except for Front lip spoiler.
Wheels however were not the Elante spoked wheels but the 15" alloys that came on the TR,
except they were 4-studded to suit the 1st gen. I found this most interesting.
