where would be the best place to fit it?
would it be ok underneath the passenger seat or would that be dodgy?
is there a way to fit it in the glove box?
would it be ok on the parcel shelf in the bak?
any other ideas where it could be installed?
where would the best place to put the converter?
would the converter be ok just under either one of the seats?

the xboxs are pretty bulky so it would be hard to fit them into the glove box without modifacation, but yeah if there enough room wack it under the passenger seat
i think the only consoles that fit into the glove box easy are the slim line PS2

Percal shelf = big no no, unless you want people to break into your car :P.
Basically anywhere it'll fit but is out of view from people outside the car. Some have mounted theirs in the flip down arm rest in the back seat which can look pretty cool.

You might have to gut the xbox and stuff it into a smaller case. Have a look at the xbox-scene forum there has been heaps of people that have made their cases smaller.
EDIT: If i was serious about installing an xbox in my car, i would take it apart and treat it as a standard car computer install :)
I was thinking of ripping a xbox apart and putting the drive bit under the rear aircon vents with some wifi controllers and then putting the rest in the boot.

cant put the cd drive too far away from the box as IDE cables cant be too far apart..the box is actually pretty packed inside, not much room to compact it all

Go onto CAA (http://www.caraudioaustralia.com)if you want another opinion on it...I think a couple of the guys there have a console in their car. :P

or you can do as i did, ditch the xbox and get a slimline ps2... the power adaptor is $19 from jb... no need for in invertor and no interfreance like i had with the xbox and the non pure sine wave invertor....
but imho the xbox is way better than a ps2, but for the car the ps2 is much easier to adapt.... it even fits in the etc console bit under the armrest thingy....

I dont know if this is the case with the xbox, but with the ps2 (any model) you can remove the internal psu, then there are 4 wires, 2x + and 2x - you just simply hard wire to these pins and all is sweet.

I got the xbox in the statesman, i put it on the fold down middle seat, probably couldnt fit on the magna, but yeah i had it there so when you fold down the seat two people could play it from either side of the back seat. The power inverter was in the boot behind the carpet, then just run all the leads under the carpet. You can see what it looked like if ya click the statesman link below.
