hey all. been doin a lil browsing in my engine bay concerning the induction method. ive got a KN panel filter in the airbox and been wondering how i can improve it. thought about POD but dont like the swirling and heat effect.. heres what i did.

ok this first experiment was fully homebrand... i unbolted the bottom half of the airbox and induction path and jst took it off. used Duct tape and shoelaces to hold the panel filter to the top (yeh yeh like i said homebrand). so i took her for a drive down my street... holy crap she sounds like a WRX!!! breathes 50 times better and accelerates faster! i was very surprised and impressed. i showed a mate of mine n he laughed straight away jst by looking at it. he said and i quote "man i'll give you $20 if that sounds any better" well im $20 richer hehe. what im doin now to make it look decent is this.

taking the bottom half of the airbox and removing the bottom and the bottle neck part, definately keeping the engine facing wheel of the box as a heat shield. then comes the cai. all im doin is gettin some air piping from supercheap and directing it directly behind my grille and clamping it in place. then ill clamp it right underneath the remainder of the airbox. i thought of cutting the box into a decent shape to adapt to the hose but then id lose the nice growl i get without the box.
so there you have it.
a CAI that sounds like a WRX. enjoy and let me know what u think or if u have any better ideas.

Idea 1

Dont get that pipe from suepr cheap, around the battery it gets extreamly hot and it shrinks
It was amaxing the difference it made the first time, after that felt like crap again

And what your doing by having no bottom half of the pair box is basically what a pod is
