My accelerator cables abit wierd since i got it its been loose like i put my foot down alittle bit then nothing happens then abit more then it opens the throttle body i was fiterling around with it for awhile but cant work out how to tighten it.?

My TH i put the foot on and instant acceleration just have to push the TJ more and same thing with my brake pedel in my TJ have to push it heaps more.

The cable runs to a slider which is mounted on the plenum with 2 10mm bolts, the cable then runs the the T/B,

Loosen the 2 bolts and adjust the slider to minimise the slack of the cable but dont take up all the slack, there still has to be some play in the cable

Ha clarion magna i tightened it up theres is some slack but not alot what u mean by there still has to be some slack in the cable and what does it affect. And i noticed aswell it hits full throttle with less slack.?

What does it do if u take up slack or all of the slack? thanks.

You want to have a bit of play in the cable instead of it being tight, too tight and the accelerator will be over responsive plus it might start to stretch the cable a bit,

so what u want to do is slide it until the cable is tight and then start to back it off, so that the cable can be moved up and down say approx 3cm in the middle, hard to explain sort of have to go by feel

I like to adjust the slack so that there's about 5-10mm of pedal travel
before anything happens at the throttle.

A squirt of oil or light grease up the cable could help too if its sticky.
