ok since i have had the dualies put on my tips are hangin to low like dogs balls so ye wanna cut the bar and sit it up higher. most places want atleast $300+ just to cut 2 holes in my rear bar.

now im gonna give this a go myself but before i start hacking away do i have to prep anything up? or do i just mark and start cutting. if i cut will my paint start to flake of where iv made my cut? what is the best cutting tool to use?

those who have cut their own bars please post up and give me some advice please.

thanks
Ash

If you cut it yourself it's gonna look horrible. I had mine cut out at the exhaust place, then I had it fixed up by a panel beater who also happened to be a plastic welder. He fixed mine up to look the same both sides and resprayed my bar for $300. If you're gonna cut it yourself, use like a hacksaw with an air compressor (you know the tool) Then you'll probably need to use wet sand paper to smooth it all off... but then you're still gonna have the problem of the under part of your back bar looking like crap... man I wouldn't do it, I'd get a professional to do it. Look around some more, someone will do it for around $300 including painting.

i was thinking dremel aswell but wasn't sure if you could use it due to the paint. Have you done this before?

I havent done it, but a mate has on his Ford.

He used heavy duty masking tape (the 3m stuff) and taped over the area he was cutting.

He used the super thin cutting wheel at slow speed.
