Hey All i got a 1987 TN SE 2.6EFI 5 Spd Manual which currenlty has a blown head now i dont plan on gettin rid of it because of tht wht i wanna noe is wht a head would cost me and wht a head gasket would cost, also wht would be the best way to get some more power out of the 2.6 cause while i got the engine open i might aswell do some mods as its gonna be off the road 4 a few weeks. I plan on fixing the rust at the same time wht would use recomend to use. Thanks.

i have a mechanic lookin ova the car as we speak to determine whether it is a blown head or gasket. if ya wanna noe why all this happened well first the radiator bottom end blew out so had to get a new radiatior but since then the car just ova heats so did a few things to see if it would work eg test thermostat but still car ova heated so bought brad new thermostat housing and gasket and thermostat but still car ovaheated left it 4 a few weeks went back to pick it up frm myfreinds ( broke down whilst in adelaide i live in mt gambier 450kms away err) and yes oil is milky car started though which was weird has tappt noise from there being *** all oil in the car but yeah thts the story.

yeah its a ***** but head wont take long to replace and while its off the road i can do rust work and get the engine ready 4 a tune and service. tell me sumthing does a pod filter on a magna improver proformace and does the car heat up more with one and cannons do they use more fuel.

The jury is still out on the pod increasing power, but if youve got a stock intake ATM then my guess would be yes you will get a *small* increase in power from a pod.

Cannon will not cause increase in fuel consumption, but it will increase the amount of people that laugh at you when you drive past. :)

depends if on the quality of the head gasket...

my head gasket back in the day when i got my new motor was worth about $140ish just for the head gasket.

It would be a good idea to buy a whole kit, new gaskets for everything.
