Does anybody know if the sump on a 3.5L has a gasket between it and the rest of the engine? same goes for the pan at the bottom of the tranny?
Just got off the phone with another AMC member who works at AutoOne and looked on his computer, in the books and rang another store for information regarding this and came up empty handed.
Any help appreciated. Thx.

I know that on my oil sump it has some sort of gasket... like the stuff you get in tubes... goes on like glue... its Red in color. Hangs out the sides of the sump.

Yeah spoke to Mitsu about an hour ago, its just a silicon glue that goes between the sump and the engine, same applies to the tranny.
Strange.

Yep, they run silicone gaskets. The Mitsy stuff is actually repackaged Three Bond and there is different grades for engine and transmission.
