hi,
ive only had my magna for a short while, so im still figuring out a few things about it.
1st question ive got, what are the two extra plastic tanks on the air intake tube (oh sorry, i have a 94 3.0l manual), i think they are on the section of pipe before the MAF.
i dont understand what they do or why they are there (other than maybe collecting water or something) and was wondering if i should just take them off and plug the holes.
2nd question id like to know, if there is the ecu on these cars give 'trouble codes' and if so, how can i get them without a scanner? i have the input under the drivers side. not sure if it is possible with this model magna but, i know with other cars it can be done. eg, with my Corvette i can short to pins in the aldl and it will display the code # in a number of light flashes on the dash info centre.
it'd be good if someone can answer these for me.

welcome :D
those plastic things are intake resonators. afaik they keep a constant but lesser airflow going into ur engine.....majority of people have removed them, and plugged the holes with mcormacs spice jar lids :D
take them off n hear the roar of the beastly 6

welcome, you can hook up a 12v light to the 2 pins in the drivers side footwell and it'll flash out a code, or use analog voltmeter. I cant remember off the top of my head what pins they are

Excellent news about the code pulling, now if anyone can tell me which pins they are.... and maybe even an instructed method, say, the 12V light version? that would be great.
yeah, the Vette is an 87.... wich is exactly the same as an 88, minus 5 horse power (which equates to even less in killowatts)
its a mean mean mean machine, but i save it for the weekends as it uses twice as much fuel as the magna.

F**k You!
on a side note, mech came around b4, tinkered with the dizzy (said it was a possible faulty crank pulley, ill explain on msn) it was running more advanced but ran beautifully, when the car was at "proper" timing it would run no balls...
took her for a drive and yeah mate all good!
