The gas convertor in my car is a lovato brand type. I was curious, pulled it out and apart, ripped the diaphram so its busted now.
Pulled it out because gas wasnt runnig the best, and the convertor was pretty rusted/wrecked all through out so would of liked to replace anyways.
Been looking on ebay, seen a couple of Impco L types for sale.
I know they would hook up, but what I want to know is the amount of gas given out.
Eg is the converter for an 8 different for a 4 cyl, or is it one size fits and and you just have to play with the knobs to get the amount of lpg right?
PS found an aussie brand, http://www.lgmotorgas.com.au/navigation.htm
rang the guy there, he was very helpfull. Has anyone had any experience with these systems?

I know with Impco the convertors are different for different sized engines, couldn't tell you the models though. Why not just get your Lovato one reconditioned, probably wouldn't cost that much.
Or check the wreckers for something of a similar sized engine car.

Get a pro to do it. You dont want any explosions under there due to leaks. Convertors arn't that expensive..
As posted above there are different types. Even though a different brand may be suited to your vehicle the connections may be different, sizes for your water and gas line as well as the connection going into the mixer on your inlet pipe. Try and get the same one if you can that way there will be less messing around.
If you do it yourself test for leaks or get a lp gas fitter to check it all once your done.

I brought one from that website I posted.
Should arrive next week some time :)
Designed to work with 4cyls.
Only 140 aswell so not bad.
Its easy to hook up, theres just coolant in, coolant out, LPG in and out
Matching the coolant pipes will be a sinch as there just rubber hoses.
The lpg in might be the only problem as this is a copper line as the lpg in is under pressure and a liquid. Its a screw caps so it either does or doesnt fit, no dodgey business inbetween.
If it doesnt ill have to go to a lpg place and get one that does fit.
Cant believe a place quoted me 550 for an OMVL converter and installation. I asked them why so much and said they "might" have to change some things around, when i asked what he wouldnt tell me... idiots lol

Tell then you will pay it providing they give you a receipt that they converted you to gas and then apply for the 2k subsidy from Johnny lol.. :D
