Orightys, had the car running for a while now and shes running sweet, cept for one thing, after about 25 minutes of driving, when i come to a stop (i.e. Traffic lights) the oil light would flicker on, and then it would stay on, only while in D, and idling, after about 25 minutes of driving, if i quickly shift it into N it will go off....
now yes i have checked the oil level and its fine.....
now im gonna change oil soon cause i think the sump plug is leaking (drips out a bit overnight) but would this be causing the problem?
This is the only thing stopping me from coming on a long drive, i.e. to an AMC meet, KK's etc etc..

Doesn't it usually mean a drop in oil pressure? If you have a considerable leak, could cause loss of pressure? Maybe the oil pump?
*EDIT*
You better pm me when you're going to KK!

also wire on the oil pressure switch could be loose or pressure switch could be faulty. btw if you unplug it oil light will come on

ill change oil soon and put a new sump washer in, ill see if that makes a diff, it could only be that.
magnatism, wheres that switch located? i havent touched anything on the block during the new heads process so if its down the bottom (which im sure it is) i dont think i touched it

I had the same thing with my ks v6.. the oil light flickered.. the oil was at 3/4 on the dipstick. I drained and replaced the oil and it hasnt come back since

Oil light flickering is definitely due to drops in oil pressure. If your level is OK then primarily, I'd change your Oil Filter immediately. If it still happens, then your oil pump could be on the way out. Or the oil pressure switch could be buggered as well.
There are tests for all these things in the workshop manual. Download it if you don't have it and start reading Chapter 12. (it's a short chapter :) )
