Hey guys, i'm new here .. and i've gone back through about 8 pages of threads, and done a search - but can't find anything explict over what i'm after.

I have a 98TF Magna, and just removed the stock rear 6x9 15w Eurovox's to install some Kenwood 200w 2-ways i picked up for $88 over the xmas sales. The speakers themself are a perfect fit, however I like the look of them as well, so would prefer not to cover them with the covers which were used on the stock magna speakers.

The problem is the holes in the back dash (if that's what we call it?) for the speakers are huge, and obviously designed to be covered by those gigantic stock speaker covers.

What have other people done to deal with this problem?
Is the common suggestion to use the magna covers to cover the speakers/hole..

Cheers

ok - most ppl probably are like myself - we put the factory covers back on as it makes the after market speakers invisible from the outside - which is a great theft deterrent.

I mean - i would have loved to put the Boston Accoustic Grills on mine - but that is just asking for trouble!!

But if this is what you really want - then I am not sure how you could go about it - though I would suggest you may need to either remake or add attachments to your parcel shelf.

i didnt even think the nice kenwood grilles from my 6x9's wouldnt fit in, cos i never tried.
yes they would have looked nice, but i want to keep the speakers :?

Thanks guys.. i'll stick with the factory covers.

Just need to use different (shorter) bolts or a heap of washes to make sure the speaker bolts still fit tight without the cover on. Without the kenwood covers on the speakers the nut isn't able to be tightened enough as the top part of each bolt has no thread.

the only way youl get the speaker covers on em is makeing a custom PARCEL SHELF.

if ur kewood grillles have BADGES on em...take em off n glue em onto the stock grilles. I did it with my pioneers...basically no1 noticed but it did look alot better!

The Kenwood covers did fit (just).. I have them on now. It's just the horrible gaps around the 6x9 mounting holes in the Parcel Shelf that's stopping me from leaving them on.

I am definately not interested in making any permanent changes to the shelf.
Thanks for the replies anyway.
