i have a 4cylinder TR magna and for a while now ive been thinking about doing an engine swap simply because id like an engine that gives me a bit more power the the fuel consumption i get.
ive been thinking about the 3.0V6 from the TS but apparently one of the engine mounts is in the wrong spot which means engineers certificate and all kinds of stuff.
also thinking about the gallant 2.4L 4cylinder
does anyone have some advice or ideas about what engine would best fit and which would give best performance?

Unfortunately there is no straight swap that I know of for the 4 cylinder TR/TS models.
You would be better off finding a manual v6 TR/TS and trading in...the cost would be better.
Not sure where you're located so here's a few to have a look at:

Easiest is to turbo it.
With the turbo and tuned ECU and all the shizz you'd have 100-120kW atw easily.
Its an old engine, and has been turbo'ed many times... if you're not after a new car or engine swap, thats the best alternative.

Turbo charging an old engine especially auto isn't smart, after spending 5 grand you will be up for a rebuild in the near future as the kms click up.
As anoying as it is to say you would be much better to sell yours and trade up to a 3.0L Manual TR/TS or go all out for a TE. TE's can be found for as cheap as 7 grand and come with a nice 3.0L :D
The 2.4 is a good motor and a million times better than the 2.6 in so many ways. But if your going to actually do a swap your better to go for a 6.

I hate to say it but i think the best road is to maybe start with a new car that is a bit easier to modify.
I think u will be half way down the track with barely anymore money and no where else to go.
Alot of u may disagree with me but thats only my 2cents :)
