Hi Guys,
Just need some help identifying what model a car is. The seller says it is an MY02 but according to a previous post MY02 models came with climate control and I cant see any evidence of this in the photo.

From looking through the forums I gather that the VRX can be broken down into:

TJ Series 1 - Original build

TJ Series 1.5 (MY02) - added - 17" wheels, Climate control, 6 speaker stereo (front splits), electric aerial, added safety feature (doors unlock during accident)

TJ Series 2 - Same as MY02 + Series 2 badge on boot + digital odometer, relocated trip computer to instrument cluster.

I have been for a drive in a series 2 magna and know what the climate control looks like. From this picture I dont see any controls for the climate control it just seems like a normal aircon system to me:

Also are there any other benefits of a series 2 over a MY02 (i.e worth paying money for)

Did they stop the symbol on the steering wheel for TJ? It looks much the same as a TH from the inside.

I agree it looks like the inside of my TH, but manual

if u look at the speedo face it doesnt have digital odo

No its there, the lighting is hiding it.

You're probably also thinking of the non-airbag steering wheels where the logo was inside an oval circle.

Did TH sports 99 come with air bag? I thought so, but I also think I have the oval aswell... CBF checking

What the hell does MY02 mean????
Not sure what the MY stands for, but the 02 means "2002" i believe. It was a special series in between the series 1 and 2 TJ magnas. Kind of like a cross between the 2.

hmmm this is confusing.. cause i had a 2001 Sports which was suppose to be a MY02... it had twin air bags, climate control & premium sound, which i thought was the MY02 stuff

Gremlin i don't blame you for being confused, maybe the late 2001 models were MY02 (even though that doesn't make sense :confused:).

Sales people generally don't know a great deal about what they are selling. This includes
service department attendants (those that work in the office receiving customers). I took
my car for a service and afterwards as the attendant drove my car out, he asked me
whether I knew I had problems with my shifter as he was having trouble taking it out of P.
I had to remind him that its an AWD with a shiftlock.
