My magna modding is coming along and so far I am fairly pleased with everthing. Thinking about what to do with additional modding and though I might aswell bring it back to where it all started, with you guys.

So far I have added one piece paras, clear rear lights, colour coding, clear indicators, lowering and other small misc things.

Recently I have finnaly settled on 19" BSA rims with 245 rubber and also put on a redback exhaust.

I know there has recently been a thread on redbacks but I will say that for me it was a worthwhile mod. The sound is nicer but not much louder, which is what I was expecting and hoping for and very little drone due to manual transmittion. Acelleration is smoother and there is now no jolt when shifting gears. There is a small increase in power but its only just noticable.

Overall it has increased driveability, sounds better and once an aftermarket tip goes on, will look better. A very worthwhile mod at $450. (This is just what I noticed, not keen to start another exhaust debate)

The new rubber makes for an excellent drive, the car feels more stuck to the road than ever.

Front, including minor paint damage

Back, including new redback and removed towbar

I was too hasty when getting it lowered and came up with a dissapointing result.

Pretty, but not quite low enough.

At the moment I feel faced with a big decision, whether to keep going with the visual mods or call it quits.

Option 1 - Install superlows, cut the bumper and get a nice straight tip, put on letterbox grille and be done with it.

Option 2 - I am looking at a bit over $2000 supplied and fitted for JVM design front + letterbox grill and ralliart sides and rear.

- $260 for skirts, which I already have
- $450 for rear bar that I am finalizing sale on if I decide to go through with it
- $600 for the JVM front bar delivered
- $800 allowing for painting and fitting, should be more than enough as I was quoted $300 to paint just the front and sides

Incase its not clear I believe it is currently too high but after the kit is fitted it should be a fairly ideal hieght, but may get the fronts compressed a little with the kit.

I drive fairly carefully most of the time and am happy with the cars current power, although will be getting a K&N and perhaps extractors later down the track. I am also keen to get a rear sway bar and possibly a strut brace, but that can wait until the ricing is over.

I currently have enough money saved to do the full kit but there is that constant voice of, 'why spend the money on something that essentially, does nothing'. As you can see from the pictures I love my car but am having trouble justifying getting the full kit.

The only pros I have come up with (aside from the fact that it will look excellent) are; my front bar currently has some paint damage that would cost ~$200 to fix and that my rear bar will need a bumber cut to fit a straight tip also ~$200. These problems will both be solved with the new kit.

I also dont like the idea that I will look like i'm trying compete with lancer rice boys and other done up jap cars. Of course I am modding for my own pleasure but other people may not get this when they see me cruising past.

So basically do I spend ~$2000 for major coolism or ~$700 just to finish the job ( leaving $1.3k to spend on uncar related things)

Thankyou if you actually read all of my BS lol looking forward to your replies.

Please yourself- primarily its your car- you love it- get what you love- and its nearly Christmas so treat yourself- mind you Christmas is also a time of added unforseen expenses-
like presents for others. Be an individual and install truck airhorns for those who dont like your mods and blow it up their a......s. Youve done the leg work on the kit- go for it and that paint quote is cheap btw- and as for other makes dissin yu - theres those airhorns again.
