ok someone tell me what is causing or how to fix my rear shocks they still work fine but they rattle when i reverse out of work over the smooth concrete also the vibration from the motor when its warming up causes them to rattle also, only time ive messed with shocks was in my old datsun 240k top rubbers where easy to replace do these have the same thing as they are strut type i belive?

i thought it was one of my exhaust hangers at the rear but the whole thing was checked today by the guy who did all the custom exhaust for me and he said its perfect lol he even droped it back to my work guess he wanted to see how it went :)

to take out the rear shocks the tools u need are.
spring compressers
socket set
ring spanner set
jack
axle stand
a torqure wrench comes in handy but u don't need it.

now to remove.
chock up all ur wheels with a brick\rock or somthing similar.
undo rim nuts one turn then jack up the back till it's a few cm's off the ground.
now grab ur compresser and put 3 coils between the teeth and slowly tighten each side bit by bit (Go slow). once you compress the spring undo the nuts at the top of the strut and the bottom.
check to see if u need to replace the bump stops and do so if needed.
put in the new shock and tighten only a bit. if u tighten them up now, when the car is lowered back down it will bind and tear the rubber bushes.
make sure it's in the correct place. once the spring is lined up with the strut ( there's a ridge on the strut for the spring to sit so it dosen't move) slowly un-compress the spring. put the road wheel back on, lower it then tighten the wheel nuts. now do up the to of the strut nice and tight and lay on ur back and tighten up the nuts on the bottom of the strut and go have a cold one.

any more question just ask. ive have renewed or replaced the mechanical myself
