found this site regarding BRISK spark plugs http://www.brisksparkplugs.com.au/index.shtml. the guy who imports them recommends the lgs plugs for the 2,6litre magna motor. they cost $18 each but guarantees better power and fuel consumption . he is running them in an au xr6 and gets up an extra 30-35ks per tank, also his father has an xf falcon on dual fuel and gets about the same. have just put some KLG 3 electrode in and found them ok. so will have some cheap plugs if anybody wants them $15 for the set.

well my brisk spark plugs arrived today. so as soon as the motor had cooled i changed to the brisk. i was told that throttle response power increase would be noticable. well i can say yes to both while the power increase is notable its not 100"s of kw. throttle response is wow as soon as you put your foot on the throttle away she goes.
at the moment i am very pleased, also tried on bp ultimate and it went even better,as my magna is duel fuel.

$72 for four plugs..........they would have to be good to justify that sort of expense.
How old were the plugs you replaced, remember a lot of the difference you notice will just be from new plugs

Exactly! Thats where i'd place my bets... also, the new plugs run a different sized gap too right?

go to the web page noted above, i am running the lgs. was running new three electrode KLG plugs done approx 500klm. great plug cost $20 for the set of 4. i like trying new things especially something different. everybody uses ngk etc thats why i went for KLG then these BRISK plugs.

Ive had the same plugs in my KE since I bought the car at ~150,000, its now at 210,000.

Should I replace or "dont fix it unless its broke"???

if it was me i'd be looking at replacing them

Ugh. There's no difference in power or economy between any spark plugs. All spark plugs do is provide a spark! Nothing more! The reason you're noticing a difference is probably because your old ones were so bad, but the reality is that you could of put in ANY spark plugs and you would've found the same thing.

I remember reading somewhere that not all spark plugs are the same. Some have better
spark pattern that ensures better combstion, especially with lean burn engines while other
don't. Also, Iridium is better than platinum which is better than nickel.

Here (http://www.ngkspark.com.au/product_index.htm?http://www.ngkspark.com.au/pages/product_spark.htm)is a readup on spark plugs.

Not quite true, in higher performance cars (top fuel dragsters) spark plugs even have to be facing the right way to ensure the best combustion possible. They may not make a huge difference, but it does make some.

Here is another one on NGK IX iridium. See the flame kernel expansion on different type.

I dont believe that there is a difference in performance between cheap and expensive plugs.

Of all 1 probe sparkplugs avaliable normal copper ones are the best, due to the fact of copper being the best conductor apart from gold so they have the quickest spark. Platinums are just for long life, for performance you dont put them in turbo cars cause they cant provide the same spark as copper ones, but that's where iridium ones come in, same spark as copper ones and last a bit longer, but not worth the extra expense for 20000ks more in my opion, $4 vs $20 a plug.

There are 4 probe sparkplugs avaliable now, that'll have the best spark of all cause 4 is more efficient than 1 and you will have the plug facing the right way all the time. Although this is for turbo cars mainly though cause they tend to blow out the spark at higher boost.

So in theory if I dont mind changing the plugs more often then I can get away with cheap plugs?

Will any plugs cut it or do i require a specific type of cheap plug?

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea when it comes t spark plugs.

4 probe or 1 probe doesn't matter as there can only jump one sparks at a time, the 4 probe are really for long life then sparking efficiency. In fact the more probe there is the more it will interfere with the kernel flame expansion.

I can say yes certin plugs will do certin things...in our race bikes for the SS cat. we have to run a special NGK to get the best performance out of it, if we put the normal plugs in for that bike is just runs like poo..think i've got some dyno figures of the bikes here i'll see if i can find them or we'll do another run next time the bikes are in the shop.

Just removed a set of 4 probes plugs from my pajero. Put standard units from Mitsu Platinum jobbies. My findings runs smoother on idle and feels a bit better off the mark and mid. Had the same plug in the verada genuine items front and rear they were great as well. On a side note i though the Rada was a pain changing plugs and leads. Pajero is so much worse. More crap to remove took just under 3 hours vs 1.5 hours to complete the job and a few scratches here and there.. lol...
