Hi everyone, I have a 1994 Ts Magna 2.4litre auto transmision and I wan't to know has anyone come across the similar situation, when the car is cold in the morning it work's fine at 900 rev's when it warm's up it work's on 1500 to 1800 rev's, I retune the car (my self) to 900 rev's and as soon as I take it for a drive it does the same. A friend told me it's either the air flow meter or a sensor.

Help needed urgent because it's driving me crazy...

The EXACT same thing happened to my car, turned out to be a wax pellet not closing an air thingy properly inside the idle speed controller plus my throttle position sensor was stuffed, so not sure which one it was exactly, but you can get a change over throttle body for about $100 that has the TPS and ISC included which will fix your car for sure. Just make sure you get a reco/brand new throttle body, buying 2nd hand might not get rid of the problem.

P.S. your engine is a 2.6L ;).

How muh effort is involved in removing then replacing your old throttle body, because I think thats what I need.

Piece of piss man, it's a couple of bolts and a couple of wiring clips and that's it.

hey i got the same car cept its manual. mine does the opposite. when i start up it stays around 1500rpm for a bit, after a drive it drops to between 800 and 1000rpm. could be a problem with ur ecu telling it rev higher? maybe too rich or something...

when you start it it revs at bout 900 right? but when you rev it the revs raise. sounds like what i had it could be your isc. go to mitsubishi and they will be able to tell you but it sounds nasty. but even after mine idles at 750 sometimes and then at other times bout 900 dunno???

mines being weird too.....it either idles in P at 900/1100, but in D it revs at a nice 550...clunks into R though...

if i move the throttle cable down, it will idle at 700 in P, like 350 in D, but not clunk into R

 i should just be happy the damn thing works i guess

I am correct in thinking these are the same for the ts model too?
I have this same problem

I got a v6 Ts 5spd
it will rev at around 1000 - 1100 while cold
once it hits operating temperature it gets down too 700 and idles around that
the only time it revs higher is with the AC on and the compressor clutch actually engaged..(reason is the engine needs to pick up rpm to drive the compressor)
but normally your engine should idle like that...
try the TB although you may find its only that your ISC has packed it in..
don't know if it helps much
