just wondering where u got this engine mount kit + dampener. can u take a pic of it ??
u could soak it in wd-40 then take a heavy tool and give the nut a shock (smak). most old cars need the nut or bolt shocked first before it will come lose.
now ur using a socket or ring spanner i hope ( not shifter) . take a long metal pole and slip it over the end of ur spanner or socket wrench and u will have enough leverage to undo it.
or u could go to the gym hehe
the magna in ur profile looks almost the same as mine. was wondering what it is. ur signiture say exec\se but it can't be cause it's only one or the other. seeing as it looks almost the same as mine id say it was an ececutive

ps. when u jack up the engine to take pressure of the mount to remove it, DON'T forget to use a lump of wood between the jack and the oil pan otherwise u will dent it.

they only came with auto's. don't know why though. maybe the auto is heavyer than the manual and they put the dampener on the auto's incase they had a head on.

The shock absorber is to dampen the load on the front mount, if u have the bonnet up and put it in to drive watch how much the engine throws it self on to that mount, manuals don't have one due to the engine not being connected to the wheels when its not moving. It isn't under load until take off and if u granny take of the force is alot less then the auto sitting hard on the mount with the constant astron rattle, at a set of traffic lights

mmm yeah, thinking the same. however, TM was only available in a GLX, SE or Elite sedan.

more so cos mitsu put the engine 'the wrong way' so to speak rather than the idle.

well if he thought it was a exec/se are u sure that it's even a 1986 tm??
when he asked a few weks back what his car was cos he always seemed confused. so i said posts sum pic of ur car , more so the front and back and the engine bay. but he put up about 10 pics of his interior carpet from about 2cm so it did'nt help.

mmm, yeah lol
thumpa, take a photo of your VIN plates, and blank out the last 4-5 digits of the VIN number. from that we can tell you your exact model, luxury level, options, build date, etc etc as those numbers and letters actually mean something (the last 6 or so digits are the body number of your car, which we dont need - so blank them out for security reasons)
your should read something like TM2P41 XXXX XXXXXX
this signifies a TM Automatic Carby 2.6 SE ('Premium' Line) 4door Sedan. the next 4 digits are the build date, and the following 6 are your body number, starting at 1 for each luxury level.
then on the other plate will have options... like H50 for factory air conditioning, S77 for powersteering etc etc
