Driving home this afternoon, Sound went dead.

CD or Radio, no difference.

Turned the ignition off then on, and the unit itself off and on....still no sound?

All other functions are operating fine.

I was going to upgrade the Sound system....but was'nt planning on doing it so soon :(

Has this happened to anyone else?

i had similiar problem, my remedy was to remove the ashtray portion of the centre console and check all plugs on the as tray were tight fitting, they were not so i fixed it and she worked great after that. I am not sure if wat i did really fixed the problem or it was coincedence but it is worth checking...

I'll give it a go for sure Mattstar ;)

The first day I had the car I drove around with no sound due to not having the Code for the stereo....Yesterday I was Bopping along nicely...today I am in silence again

Easy come easy go

Turns out this was proving to be a consistent problem, which would happen intermitantly.

I had no choice but to investigate further as it was shittin me off!

Turns out all it was is a loose wire between the cone and where the plug plugs to the rear standard 6 by 9" speaker.

Basically the wire folds over and earths out on the body of the speaker itself, causing the stereo to lose complete sound

Put electrical tape on the metalwork now...problem solved ;)
