Depends what you mean by "go right into a 3.5L"? Do you mean plug straight in without re-wiring? or wire straight in without re-tuning??

From what I know about them -

They don't "plug into" the ECU - it's more a case of splicing cetain wires from the emanage harness into certain wires on the ECU harness. Also - don't know about the 3L vehicles, but the ECU pin outs are completely different for an auto 3.5L to a manual 3.5L.

As for can you run a tune designed for a 3L magna on a 3.5L magna - it would probably be okay for a short period of time, but not recommended, and definetly not ideal.

So to answer your question......... you should be able to transfer an emanage from one car to another, but it's not just a case of unplugging it from one and plugging it into another.

I searched through the service manual for a TH 3.5L and slavishly documented the wiring, then TooSlow pointed me to his old thread http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41038&referrerid=708,and his car was a 3L TF. :D

Wiring looks the same for 3 and 3.5L.

There is only one Greddy harness type. The difference is which pins on the ECU they connect to, as all cars, as well as auto and manual Magna ECUs, are different.

To control injectors and timing, you need both harnesses. There is a way to use the one harness for both functions, as only one wire is cut for ignition, but CBF.:)

RPW has the harnesses for about $60
