hi guys just fitted some pads on my car rear and front they were lucus and i followed the instructions line by line the brakes seem to stop alright but i notice that the pedal goes down alot further then before is there any reason for this and can i adjust it.?

probaly there is air in the brake lines. might need to bleed the brakes.

it may of happened when you have pushed the piston back to put the new pads in.

If "alot" means more than an 1" in pedal travel, get it checked.
Many times a change in pad "name or brand" = a change in pad "material" this makes a big difference.
All pads and all brands are not the same. Never liked Lucus.

Drive the car in reverse and hit the brakes. They should self-adjust.

You are right. I must be suffering memory loss - but don't tell my Magna because it works for me - probably because I push the brake pedal harder in reverse. According to the manual, you just have to apply the brakes firmly several times and the self-adjusting mechanism in the rear brake calipers should take care of it.

You need to bleed the brakes mate.
