well, i took today off.... and got bored, so i thought id start on a custom boot install! i picked up my new audison srx 2s yesterday so i started by purchasing all the cable id need, stinger pro 4awg wiring kit, stinger turbo rca's, few meters of twisted speaker wire and some small gauge red **** haha..... also picked up 2 stinger roadkill bulk packs:D then i went off to bunnings for a heap of 16mm mdf, screws, glue etc.... then i saw the dremmels and couldnt help my self so i got one of them to haha bes 80 bucks ive ever spent, then i went and got some carpet and back home to get stuck in!! few progress pics below. what iv got so far is the false floor and amp rack for the mono marked up and cut out... my cordless drill shat itsell about 20mins abo so i had to stop production  but yeh the kicker will sit up on a 45 (or round about that) degree angle in the middle of the boot, the audison will sit on another rack above it, all cables will be neatly hidden away under the false floor, then hopefull all go to strathfields and see dave (halucin8) and get some side beauty panels made up and i will mount all my x-overs on them, i have heaps of little details that will really set this off but its to hard to explain... so you'll just have to wait for the final product :D :D :D oh yeh i also went to tech 9 tyres (where i got my wheels done) for an optima yellow top.... but walked out with it booked in for coil overs haha!!

yeh behind the seat, thats my subs in the last pic (doubeling as a work bench, so dodgy haha) but yeh the box is massive, bout 120-130L im guessing probably bigger, so my design is governed by the subs due to thire size, the box is now in and ive cut the floor so it all sits around it, just gotta start making the stands for the audison amp, oh and put blocks on the floor so it sits up, then ill pull the inside apart and start running cables :D

sounds like fun lol
are you going to cut the board so you can get your spare out?
but yeah i hate running cables and wiring them up
such a pain when you think its in then give it alittle tug and it falls out

thx for comments guys, i got 20's so a spare wont really do me much good, a can of tyre foam should do me good haha, plus my spare wheel well rattles like **** so its all getting deadend, few more pics here, the floor is now raised, not much but its just what i wanted so i can run all the cables under it, and the kickers in position and i made the rack for the audison, last pic is just to give you all an idea of the final out lay, oh and my drills back in action so full steam ahead :D :D :D

bit more of an update for yall, way way ahead of schedule, all amp racks made, brackes made and a test fit, all good, started running cables late this arvo... would still be going but had to take the missus out to dinner, pull it all out tomorrow and deaden the mofo, gonna do the whole spare wheel area with a spray on body deadener, probably give under the car a coat aswell, boot lid and parcel shelf will cop the roadkill, but judging from the amout i have i could do the whole boot twice over so we'll se how it goes :D should be up and running tommorow, then ready for a carpeting so yeh a good 5-6 days ahead of schedule, ive never tackled anything like this before so i really didnt know what to expect hehe
cheers,
tom

Looks damn sexy so far!!!
Ummm.... Can you still get access to the spare wheel?

nah, spare wheel has been made redundant, i got 20's on the car so a 15" spare isnt much good to me, like i said before ill just have to keep a can of tyre foam in the car or become an rac member haha, any way made a bit more progress with sound deadening this morning, toog the boot lid apart, soundeadened inside and out, if this thing viabrates now theres no hope haha, will run rest of the cables today and hopefully power it al up and tune the audison..... then most likely hit freo coffee strip for a cruze haha, more pics soon

where your sub box is are you going to make it look built in?
what i mean is make it look like its suppose to be there
im going to done mine on my xmas holidays and all i was going to do was get abit of board and stick it on the front of the box and have it the full length of the boot so it looks built in if you know what i mean
then just put carpet over the board and your done :D

Good work mate!
Here's a small tip, if you want your amps to both look floating, for the kicker mount bring the two brackets toward the center as far as possible. And router/mitre off the edge of the wood as well.then a nice small neon behind (out of sight obviously)
You can also wire your amps from the inside if you are handy enough with your electrics. But seeing you've spent a bit of coin on the wiring you might want to show it off...
Looking great!
Peace

thx tim, yeh i will be moving them in, and ill do the bottom edge of the audison rack so you cant see it, the kicker has the end caps so that will all be hidden away, as for the wiring on the audison, im gonna loop it in fron the bottom of the rack and ive got some stainless wire braiding of various sizes that im gonna slip on over the wires then a little bit of black heat shrink to hold it, should look pretty good (ill put up a pic to show you what i mean), and yeh i wanna get some beauty panels for the 2 sides and the sub box made up, but i work 6 days a week and not having my license really makes it hard

not having your license makes it easy :)
Then you can keep the car off the road and go nuts...

bit more progress for ya, the sound deadening done, you can see the spray on stuff in the wheel well, did underneath/outside to, this stuff works good eh, you can also see i took the whole rear boot garnish off, i gave the back of the garnish a few coats with the spray and some roadkill on the boot where the garnish goes, all the cables are run and ready to go, made up some little holder thingys for the x-overs aswell, all needs doing now is carpeting and to terminate all the cables :D ran into a little problem today which put a halt to production (little as in 5" 3...... yeh the missus haha) so didnt get as much done as id hoped... so i had dinner on the run, try them beans, theyre so good haha, any way comments please :D
cheers,
tom

well i knuckled down and finished off the boot today, got the side beauty pannels off dave (halucin8) cut em out, carpeted em, put em in for a test fit. fantastic haha but yeh, having them meant i would have to re cut the false floor, and i really couldnt be assed doin that so i cut out some new carpet for the floor (id used the factory boot carpet to change my oil the other day haha) and everythings bolted to a piece of 18mm mdf under the carpet, i also carpeted the x-over mounts and put them in, im just gonna leave it as is for a whil and turn attention else where in the car ie suspension, interior etc... some pics of the final product, **** quality sorry

yah, focal 165 k2p's up front and focal 165 v2's in the rear, i just hooked up the fronts for tuning purposes, my backs killing me from being in the boot all day so i gave up and drank some beer haha, thats the splits in the rear.... custom parcel shelf baby hehe
