Hey guys. The chap who is doing my custom installation was tuning my splits yesterday and told me about a magna which one cme in to him. he said that behind the door cards was a sort of in-built pod or something which directed the speakers at the listener. Not exactly sure what he was talking about or even if i have the right idea. it was just that he wants me to buy these door cards as he reckons it will make my splits sound a lot better. Anyone got any idea what I am talking about? Which model this may be? And if anyone knows if they will be a direct replacement for my doors? Cheers
Anthony

Mate, there you go again with your smart **** comments. What does it matter where I'm getting it done? I'm asking for a model of magna?

My TE altera has plastic box things inside the doors, not sure if all magnas have that and you're talking about something else but my Altera did have boxes

Hey go calm down man, seriously. What i was saying is, if youre gonna mention a place, give the name, cause plenty of people get Magna's done up. That way, the person can identify themselves.

And what exactly do you mean "go again"? Honestly dude, stop and think before reacting so full on.......not cool.

Well that was kind of random .
What he meant was mate that if another magna has come to him, perhaps it was a member on here and they can specify exactly what he was talking about. Mine has the plastic mount, but i thought all 3rd gens had this?
If you're interested in custom work at all, s_tim_ulate has created some custom angled mounts for his TF, might be worth asking him for some advice on it :).

All third gens have pods that angle the speaker. The veradas and TJII's have the speaker mounted higher in the door and a small plastic pipe to stop any front wave entering the door cavity. The TF's TH's and early TJ's have the speaker mounted lower in the door with just a simple slight angle on the speaker and nothing to stop the front wave entering the door cavity.

I made up some angled mounts to get the speakers almost on axis behind the stock TF trims. Since then I upgrade to 9's in the doors which are sitting on a flat mdf baffle. Angling isnt as important as im running 3 way now.

My advice, if you cant be bothered spending a small fortune on custom mounts, just make up a simple flat mdf baffle (trace around the stock speaker mount) and mark out the holes. The stock mount is too flimsy.

Peace
