Sorry to waste your time, problem solved. Turns out when deciphering the diagram for the connector I had mixed the two wires up, I just reroute the two and the problem was solved, I can even go through all my songs now, rather than just the 60 I could search through before.

Again sorry to waste your time, I guess I'm still teething when it comes to car audio.
