I posted this problem before but didnt get a solution, so I'll try again before I have to take the car to mitsubishi. I've included a few pictures, just to recap my electrical connection for towing came off, This suited me as it was just hanging there cause I've taken the tongue off my car, but didnt want to play with the electrics incase I had problems like I do now.
So I'm hoping if I can unwire it then my problems will be solved.
Problems are:
1. Keyring boot release wont open the boot. When I press the button I can hear a click sound behind the ignition but the boot wont open.
2. Hazard lights wont work.
3. Most annoying is the lights dont flash when I use the keyring to arm the car security. I end up feeling paranoid and have to check the doors after I use they keyring.

The brake light fuse blew and I replaced it works fine, initally the indicators didnt work but after I turned the car on and off they started working, all the other fuses under the ignition look good. If I do disconnect this wiring will it solve the above issues, will it help if I diconnect the battery to reset the ecu?
Any help would be appreciated.

Interesting situation. I'm not sure what your problem is, a blown fuse does sound a likely culprit. Here's what I'd do anyway:

Cut off the now unused piece about 10cm into the taped section. Peel off the electrical tape, and completely re-wire the plug. What could be happening is where the wires are spliced, they could be coming into contact with one another and causing a short.

You could reset the ECU too for good measure. To do this you don't need to disconnect the battery, just locate the yellow fuse cradle in the engine bay fuse box, and pull that up, leave it up for a minute or so, then push it back down. This will reset your ECU.

check the 2 fuses in the yellow cradle, under the bonnet! disconnecting the battery is a waste of time, and will throw your "gunked" up stepper motor out.. meaning, it will need to be removed and cleaned to get a normal idle again

does the boot release button in the glove box work, if not it may be one of two things, if you can hear the release motor activating, it must be working have a look on the lock in the boot, there is a little lever to turn off the auto boot release, so it only will open with the key, move it into the other position and it shoud work.

if you cant hear the release motor it's stuffed.

The boot release works using the glovebox button.

I had the same problem with Hazards and boot release.
It was a fuse in the fuse holder in the bonnet. Cant remember which one but shouldn't be too hard to find.

Thanks Poita and everyone who replied, I went through all the fuses again and it was a 10A fuse under the bonnet. Everything is working perfectly. Now for tha damn parabolic wiring.:)
