You'll find alot of people build spare tyre access into their install.. most have a removable floor that you can get out - even if it means taking out half your install to get at it. Others might use tyre in a can.. which is a foamy typre stuff that you plug into your tyre and it fills it up with a solid mass, usually enough to get you to a servo or home. I guess others jsut have a good plan with RAC :P

My spare is actually fully accessable...

The floor is hinged and lifts easily with the amp attached to it so that you can remove the spare or any tools kept in the spare tyre well.

The fluff is a single piece attached by velcro and can be pulled back easily to the base of the sub box, where the floor is hinged.

And thats all I need to do to get at it.. pull the fluff back and lift the base.

Theres always advantages being in a magna club tho.. means theres always someone around you can call with a spare that will fit your car.. seen that happen before!

hey mate, well orginaly i couldnt work out how to get it out:nuts:
so that wooden board thats in my boot i just took that out and they cut around the carpet so i can just fold that bak,and the checkered plate i just lift out,i could get some pics if you want?
lots of ppl like to use most of their boot space for their subs, others try and keep their system to the bak or the side of the boot, hope ive helped:)

Ring up the NRMA :bowrofl: Or head to a tyre shop. I have a lightweight spare which I can't really get out, its not really worth putting it on. Better to buy run flat or something. :D

Heh yeh... was reading the cheap roadside assist info... "racv technicians will 'attempt' to change tyres in the event of a flat. (spare tyre must be supplied by customer)"

IT was something along those lines anyway lol.

I carry a can of that ummm... tyre inflator crap... sorry the name escapes me atm. Its compressed air in a can and contains the fillers in it aswell to temporarily seal punctures.

I made a flap type thing like everyone else. The only problem i had is my rims are bigger than the stock ones. So i could get the spare out but i couldnt get the other one back in. I now have a can of the tyre inflating stuff. Which luckerly i have never had to use.

With my current install i still have access to the spare...

When i do my new install ill be removing the spare as its no good whel the rest of the wheels are 19's anyway. A can of inflator will find a home in my car after that. My VP didnt have the spare cos of the install so i just carried the can around in the car.

Touch wood though... In in 5 1/2 years driving i have never had a flat

When i'll do my install i'll have an easy access to my spare.

I was thinking about the tyre can thingie, but then i remembered when we were driving in my gf car and half the tyre blew off!!!
Not much that can can do to that unless i stick the actuall can in the tire lol
