Im getting them next week, just wondering if anyone has had any problems with them? good experiences? any info would be good.
so its a 50mm drop
and i was told by the guy thats hooking me up with them and installing them that i dont need to worry about shocks all i need to do is change the gas canister in them or something like that? anyone have any info on that?
and is $350 installed a good price? Super Lows front and back.
cheers,

I believe you go super low for looks and lows for performance.
Super lows might bottom out and become a pain in the Ass.
I've got lows all round (Lovell springs and KYB shocks) and very happy with them performance wise.
How many k's has your shocks done? Any suspension place that says "Dont worry about your shocks" is only after a quick sale on the springs.
I recently got some KYB's for the TR for $400. Shocks were totally stuffed after 130,000km's
The other issue you may have is how wide are your rims? To low and youll scrub on the outside wall of the tyre.
M4DDOG: How do you know his shocks will be fine? He may have travelled 1xxxxxx K's on them..

one big con is that super lows are not legal (2nd or 3rd gen, I believe) without an engineering cert.

Kings stopped making super lows ages ago unless thay have started them again.
As for legallity, they are illegal as it is illegal to reduce your suspension travel by more than 1/3rd without an engineers cert.
As for the mechanic who told you the dampers (they are not shock absorbers) will be fine and you just change a gas canister, they are a sealed unit and he must be a unit if he thinks he can cange the "gas canister"
The dampers will resist any change in normal operating zone and the seals will fail very quickly. There are dampers avail which have a shorter tube length to cope with lowering of cars.
If you have an Elite or a V6 ensure he resets your lower control arm bushes, if he does not know what this means he should not be allowed to work on your car!

well he said something about the gas, either it was changing the canister or recharging them or something like that, i was speaking to him after a 10 hour shift behind the bar so i wasnt all there.
also i have a 2.6L 4Cyl not the V6 :)
how much for an engineer cert?
so the shocks will be fine with the change in springs its just the dampers i need to worry about?
thanks heaps so far for the info :D

Hi I have a 1994 V3000 Magna fitted with 8" wide 17"Mags.
I have been thinking of lowering it by the use of Lovell sport lows springs, does anyone have a set up like this that can give me some advise good bad or indifferent whether to do it or not.

What you and many call the "shocks" are the dampers. It is just a common mis naming they get from many people.
They do not have gas cartridges and no they will not survive especially as they will have about 1 inch of travel left.

ok if im getting Super Lows what shocks / dampers do you suggest i get :)
someone just suggested KYB Exel G?
go kyb excel g i think they are. i have superlows on my car and these shocks work a treat. they handle the bumps and dont let the car travel much, they help if u want a stiff ride so no bottoming out or anything..

You should be fine to drive it.
Is this guy doing a 4 wheel alignment for you aswell? You may find your camber and toe is out because of such a big drop.
After 500km's or so the springs should settle a further 5 - 10mm..

I don't think you can get 4 wheel alignments done on 2nd gens Bain :)

Ahh, i thought they had an adjustable screw thread to move a couple of degrees for camber..

good stuff!
I don't like King Spring at all, After been using more than a year the car actually drop more that it was and it's bit soft as well. I prefer the whiteline but they don't have as low as kings
