That's interesting, the nuts to hold the rear wheel hub to it's axle were very loose on both my TN and TP, is that normal?? So loose that I could take them off with 1 finger?? It clamps the 2 bearings, so the torque won't be that much, but I didn't expect it to be this loose.

What torque should it be?

finger tight

the split pin stops it undoing

right..... then I think I better rectify that before it will cause any damage! I didn't tighten them too much, but for sure more than just "finger tight"

well... really your supposed to do the retaining nut to 20nm, then back it off a bit, then re-tighten to 10nm. then you put the locking cap on, then the split pin goes through that to stop the whole thing coming apart.

but really, you just dont want play in the bearings/hub, while not over tightening them.

oh, 10nm is still quite a bit. I probably had them tightened to about 20nm, but maybe now a bit too loose. I need to check with a torque wrench, just to be sure.
