My car was an ex-company car from my Dad's work, and it has some signage on it. I was wondering what would be the best and easiest way to remove it?

I've tried using a hair dryer and that was just tedious, in the end after half an hour I only managed to remove a single letter. I don't want to use a heat gun as I'm worried about damaging the paint.

Help would be much appreciated, I'm kind of sick of being known as the CaesarStone boy...

Turps is what i used to remove the vinyl stickers off my old car. And thats what was recommended by the sign writer that actually put them on.

you will need a hairdryer or heat gun. get it to a nice warm temperature ( dont hold the gun too close)

then start peeling it slowly, grab it as close as possible to reduce breaking it into little bits.

then use a light detergent to clean any remaining goo off.

if it has been on there for a while or is made of poor qualit calendered vinyl it can be very brittle and take a bit extra

yeah no liquid will eat away whole vinyl peices.

i have my own signwriting business and we use heat as it leaves minimal residue and easy to peel. you can then use ISOPREP (prepsol) to get any leftover residue

Yep on the paint and washed it off with warm soapy water. Thats what he said and it worked. No marks left at all.

normally used on lettering and sticker on paint hold hair dryer close till the plastic softens then peel off

use cut and poish to remove remaining gum

takes patience

if it was put on the car when it was brand new (straight out of the factory new) you may have problems with it lifting paint as well. if the car was sitting in a yard for a little bit first it should be ok.

you could try getting ahold of a carmal wheel, its what the pannel beaters use to remove stickers and doubble sided tape etc, wont damage the paint at all
