I need to replace the valve stem oil seals on my wagon and wanted to do it with the head still on the car, but i was in R(ipoff)epco the other day and saw that the OH valve remover tool was $130. Does any one know if i can find one cheaper?

I need to do mine too. I notice there are two very different types on ebay, one with a lever to do the spring compression and the other with a screw down clamp.
Any comments on which is the better type? As I won't have an assistant to help, I thought the screw-down type might be easier.

I've got both types and the screw down one wins hands down.
I've got an old spark plug that I smashed the guts out of and welded in an air line fitting.
I just screw it in, pump in about 50+psi to hold the valves in place and you can do the seals with the head still on.
Of course you hafta take the rocker assembly off first, I've also got a couple of old cam bearing housings that I use to put just the cam temporarily in place so that theres no dramas if the engine turns while you've got the air line on.:D

Or, to save your ass during a power blackout, shove rope into the cylinder and go nuts.

one tip, make sure you fill all oil holes with rags, chance of losing bits into your sump. :)
