Hi, I just got some new 6x9's and 6.5" speakers for me TH, and a new stereo.... I have yet recieved these items but was woundering if there is any trouble in mounting these front speakers as the ones in now look all custom desgined to go with the doors, and are the back ones as easy as pulling them out disconnecting then whackin the new ones in and wiring them up?

Any advise on how to install this crap etc. and tips appreciated... yep im a newbie :)

Thanks,
Mike.

the front speakers will fit fine width/heightwise, the only thing you need to worry about is depth. Do you know if your new speakers are deep or shallow?
6x9's should be just a simple replace, only thing you need to modify is the speaker wire, as the connecter is specially designed for the stock mits speaker. All you need to do is cut the connecter off and match the - and + wires to the speaker.
Fronts will be the same deal, but you may have to make new holes for them.
I'm guessing by stereo you mean HU?

If you're just running the new speakers off the new head unit, stock cables will be fine to use. Just remember what colours you hook up to the -/+ so to match them at the speaker end (making your own wiring diagram can come in handy for this).
If your front speakers end up being too deep you have 2 options:
- Live with it, only problem will be is your front windows will only go down to about the same as your rear ones.
- Get different speakers :).

Keep us posted :).

I live in Para Hills (North side of town, not far from Parafield Airport).
My system is all here:

I will be updating the front splits and moving them to the back come in jan/feb for some Morel Hybrid Ovations! And the boot install still needs to be done, I'm sick of cables lying everywhere!
Cheers
Pete

I did my TH Sports myself without any experience ...... so I know where you're coming from. The front speakers mounted fine but I could'nt figure out how to mount them on the panel so I ended up just replacing the old stockies and then having to cover up my shiny new ones with the stock covers as they looked daft without  . The rear shelf went okay but I need (still) to make a new parcel shelf as the stock covers are huge and I just could'nt cover the new ones up  . Have a play though..... you can always put the stockies back in if it looks crap. Hope it goes well.
