Well with the heat Melbourne as had in the past few days, I hoped back in my car after work today to find my rear vision mirror sitting in my cup holder, anyone else had this problem and what do i use to stick it back up on the windscreen ?

Bugger... just whack a couple of self tappers through mate. She'll be orite.

Your local auto parts store should have something to do the trick, or go visit an auto glass fitting workshop. They'll have something to stick it back on with, as they need to do this with the replacement of windshields anyway.

I'm pretty sure 3m make a product designed to bond things to glass.. but the name escapes me...

Hey,

You need to unclip the metal bracket off the back of the mirror first.

Then, go down to your local autobarn or whatever and buy the appropiate glue for rear view mirrors. It is especially designed to stick the metal bracket to glass. Holds like crazy!!

Works a treat!

Hi guys, this has happened to me 3 times now and only the last time it happened we figured out why -- my 3rd gen TH apparently has a 2nd gen windscreen in it and there is a small black heat shield at the top of the screen in the center where the mirror is supposed to be stuck to, but because it is a 2ng gen screen, the small black thing is too high up for a 3rd gen mirror to be stuck onto, so the mirror was glued directly to the glass and is why it kept falling off. It will probably keep happening until I replace the screen.

Just thought it may be the reason yours fell off??

It’s possible it did get a new windscreen for the roadworthy, thanks for the advice
