ok I've got a little problem, I just got my car back from the panel beaters (I got back ended :( seems like alot of thats happening these days) and now my boot light isn't comming on. I've actually put a neon in there so my neons not comming on to be more specific. Ok now I've check the fuse that I installed in the boot when I put my neon in and thats fine, I haven't checked the one in the main fuse holder but all my other internal lights are on and I assume they use the same fuse?
The only other thing I can think of is that the little switch that turns the light on when the boot open either hasn't been connected up again properly or that its being kept closed by something. Does anyone know where in the boot the switch is (I had a search and found a topis on the KH is that the same)? or possibly any other problems that may be causing this
I have a TE magna
thanks in advance

I am sure you have already looked at this but make sure the wiring is all connected up again - because it was a rear end they would have had to keep the boot open for ages which of course if the light was not disconnected would have drained the battery so therefore they disconnect them - they may just have not reconnected it for you - this happened to me once after rear end repairs
If it still does not seem to work take it back to them and tell them to fix it for you...

Cheap neons?
just check the wires for 12 v. If there is 12 v at the neon then its a problem with the neon itself. I'd say its something you've done as the stock looms are pretty hard to screw up

I wouldnt be so sure...
My boot light only has 3v going to it now? i had neons hooked up to it before then they just stopped working so i tested the wiring where id hooked it up to and it olny puts out 3 volts??? i cant find the problem but its driving me nuts

hey again,
Ok so I don't know if its the neon but I tryed to hook up the old boot light again to see if that would work and still got nothing. it was working fine until I took it in for repair (after the crash it was still working) so its either its the latch being either disconnected or its being kept closed but can anyone tell me where abouts that latch is because I'm hopeless with finding things like this lol

The switch should be on the hinge somewhere, most cars its on the drivers side. :D

Are you refering to the latch to open the actual boot? or the switch in the boot that turns the light on and off in the boot?

Pretty sure the light trigger is in the locking mech not the hinge
Have you checked stock fuses yet?
Peace

No not yet (abit late now :P) do you know if it uses a different fuse to the rest of the internal lighting?

ok I went looking in my boot for any disconnected plugs or held down switches and came across this. I'm not sure if thats the plug thats needed or just another random thing but I can't actually see where its supposed to be plugged into :S its situated in the left hole in the second picture

Have a look in the left side of the latch and plug that plug into it.
The plug is supposed to come on the out side of the panel they have put it on the inside

Ok....my lousy mech has messed up my wiring to the boot light, can someone show me pics of where the original wiring is located from? mainly I want to see the wire from the bulb going to which cable? My stupid mechanic may have ripped it off. :(
Wish I saw this way earlier.
