Here it is, its for a diamante and I'm hoping it will fit my TJ. I sent the seller an email and he says the heat shield can be rotated to suit Australian cars. Has anyone had experience with one of these?

I'd say you'd have problems with it cos its all round piping, theres no oval to suit the mitsubishi MAF

Yeah I'm guessing a blow-torch and vice can make it an oval, It's gotta be doable and about $300 cheaper than rpw are charging.

I think its only a short CAI, doesnt get the filter out of the engine bay so its not much use. At least the RPW/K&N one includes the adaptor for the mas and takes it down to the bumper.

You have lots of nice aluminium/stainless steel to absorb the engine heat (both aluminium and stainless steel are excellent heat conductors)!

Shiny or not it will absorb the engine heat, and transfer it to the air inside. The transfer of heat means that if you feel the pipe it will most likely still be cool (or coolish) due to the cooling affect of the air passing through it.

PVC and other materials that people use for their own aren't excellent conductors of heat, and the reason why PVC is cool is because it acts like an insulator (not perfect but yeah). It may feel warmer but the transfer of heat is less.

Mate go the cheapo style like magician said, and if u think it looks dodgey use some coloured piping or chrome, trust me you will not notice the diff between that one on ebay and the ones that ppl do themselves!!

Good luck!!

He loves it. lol

Couple people have shown an average of a 6kW at the wheel gain on the Dyno with a good CAI on the Magnas. But maybe the Dyno was experiencing a placebo effect. :D

May be refering to the fact that the engine bay between 2nd gen and 3rd gens are
swapped around and the ebay guy is selling them for equivalent to our 2nd gens or maybe
the ebay seller thinks that the OP has a 2nd gen.
