Hi, im just wondering what other type of throttle bodies will fit a magna tr, or can be made to fit, its for the 2.6L astron intake, i have heard of the xf throttle body, how many mm is that, can i get a Ford EL/ef/au series one?

hey dude xf is 67mm. you can get one off any car just have to make em fit.

I was thinking the exact same thing on Tuesday, so I went and poked around on ebay, only to find some expensive holden ones and some funky colored (yet still expensive) Soarer/Silvia ones.

What about the same thing for a TP Magna?

hey i got one of an XF ford, how did you get yours on the car? magnatism.

From what I have read you will need an adaptor plate made up for it.

oh yeah and for those who asked about the xf t/b here's what i did... may take some pics when i get the car back from the xhaust place

also its not as simple as just changing the t/b either. you do need an ecu to retune it... but here are the steps if ya wan2 give it a go:
1). get xf 67mm t/b from wreckers (duh!)
2).take off the accelerator cable pulley and turn it around 180 deg to make it pull the other way. i think you have to cut bits of the aluminium throttle stop brackets off.
3). make the mounting holes in the t/b slightly bigger so the screw holes will line up with ur plenum.
4). fit falcon t/b and mark with texta (while opening butterfly) how much of ur plenum u need to grind out
5). Grind out plenum to make air inlet bigger.
6). buy 2 rubber plugs to block off the crank case ventilation holes in the falcon t/b.
7). fit plenum to car and cut a piece of flat bar (30mm x 250mm long by 3mm or so) and mount it to plenum where the accelerator cable would normally mount and then drill and tap holes to bolt your accelerator cable to the flat bar as the accelerator cable needs to be moved.
8). join the 2 coolant hoses from the original idle speed motor together ie bypassing it.
9). get car retuned!!!

What about the same thing for a TP Magna?

You forgot TPOS buddy, what wires do i connect. the magna has 4 wires and the XF has only 3?
hopefully mick @ overboost will install the (bigger) turbo in about 3 weeks, because then the car should be tuned.

Anything can be made to fit..:P

I got a 80mm mustang TB on my TJ..:)

black(xf) goes to black(magna)
orange(xf) goes to greenand yellow(magna)
green(xf) goes to red and brown(magna)

tape up the other wire on magna its not needed

also i cant stress this enough do not hammer the car without getting it tuned first u could lean it out and start meltin stuff.

my cars untuned as it is atm with the turbo on it, the rpm limiter is at 4000 atm

just dont drive it with mass modz or it could lean out and melt tha pistons!!!
