Hey guys,
just about to put some 20's on my car and get it lowered 2 inches. But before i do I just wanted to ask if anyone who has them has cme accross any problems such as the speedo being out or not being able to turn full lock or anything like that. Also, does anyone know if you have to inform the insurance company of your modification.
Thanks
anthony

To answer that one, yes. As its a major modification there could be issues down the track should you need to make a claim. I would suggest you ring them first before you do it to see if they will still cover you. Otherwise you could be comprehensively stuffed (no pun intended :p).

hay buddy you wont have any problems with 20s but you have to go lower then 2 inches
im currently sitting at 3 inchs in the front and 3-1/2 in the back but you dont have to go that low mine is really low but thats what i like lol
and you wont have any probs with insurance as long as you get modified car insurance from the likes of just car insureance or vigil car insurance to name a few
i used to be with just car insurance and now with vigil
they will insure any thing you do to your car
thanks geoff

just make sure also your rims arnt to wide and your tyre profile isnt to big, im running 225/30R20's on low/super low combo, i got no rubbing problems at all, could probably go a 35 profile and still have no worries, but yeh, get the wheels on then get it lowered, cos i need my gaurds rolled, but thats included in the price for my coilovers :P
you can throw 225 and 235 under your guards no wukkas. 245 is pushing it - but has been done on a vrx with diff. control arms. 30 or 35 profile will fit fine if you lower it 2".
But yea, as someone said before, chuck the 20s on, then lower it. Unless you have the luxury of playing with coilovers, the 20s will skyrocket your car and you will need to compensate futhur.
20's plus extream lowering is a pain in the aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassss.
It'd be worth investing in an engineers certificate too, for legalities and insurance reasons... although the engo's will be pretty picky when it comes to the specifics of the rubber... and the $$ of the rubber that meet their specifications.

like dee said.. 225 0r 235 are an easy fit.. 245 will cause scrubing.:P But it all come down to how low yo uhave it.. put the wheels on before you lower it..:P
Ive got 245/35/20's front and rear and mines lowered 4 inchs all round...:P

So it can be possible to legally have 20's on your car? How do you get an engineers certificate?

make sure its legal than take it to get engineered..
I think mines the only one with an engineers cert..:P
Dont forget the camber problems associated when you lower it as far as EGO or whitemagna... you'll get about 5000kms out of a set of tyres.

nah not really true,
ive got some serious neg camber happening on the rear, and i drive it hard.... done over 10k now on my 20's and after close inspection today they are at 90% tread left, the inside obviously wears quicker on the rear, so you gotta rotate... but im lazy

maybe it's cos im awd or something, or they have super soft tyres, dunno
