I can definitely recommend extractors for any late model 4 or 6-cyl car.
I'm not biased any particular way, however I'd recommend RPW extractors purely because they do not drop below standard (or so I'm told) which makes them an ideal performance mod for someone who has lowered their car (for track/street driving). Oh and also they are tuned length, so your flex pipe does not need to be modified.
They "extract" the exhaust gasses from each cylinder much more quickly than standard pipes, giving them more of a "pull" more in the high end (drive a car with a large turbo (boost kicks in @ 2500+ revs and doesn't get going until later)), or decent mods + computer chip and you'll know what I mean).
As a secondary matter I can recommend pacemaker purely because they are inexpensive and widely available.

I have RPW "older" Race Headers (currently called Street Headers) with XForce muffler.
Very nice results on my 3 L TE. But not that cheap.

I wacked a set of 'wildcat' 4-2-1 design extractors on my old 2.6 EFI TP, did next to nothing, cost $300 all up, and for the 1/2 a Kw I got out of it I dont think it was worth it really.
Although I have also wacked some pacemakers on my 98 exec TF 3 litre, and there were noticeable gains, slightly more pull down low, better response, and a bit more pulling power mid to high revs. As far as basic bolt on NA mods go for a 6G72, extractors are worth the money. Although a word of warning, don't get your hopes up too high, as any bolt on NA mod is never going to yield massive gains, still noticeable gains none the less though. By the way the pacemakers cost $580 installed.

Most people on here seem to like the pacemaker extractors which can be bought for as low as about $380, but full retail is more.. shop around and see what you can find. Expect to pay another couple hundred for installation.
You'll want to have replaced your rear muffler first though to get the best benefit from the extractors.
Myself, I've ordered a set of RPW's extractors. They will set you back about $550 + installation. The major difference between the two brands seems to be that RPW have larger primaries which might help if you get to extreme levels of modification. Well, that and half the people on this forum regard RPW as the devil incarnate because of bad experiences.

My thoughts...
Im happy with my pacemakers, and they are a leading extractor brand.
Do not be cheap and buy Wildcat extractors, or any thing along those lines as chances are they will be inferior to the pacemakers. Ive heard storys of the wildcat extractors that the primary pipes are too big, resulting in power loss in the low-mid rev range, with only slight gains higher in the revs.
If your after extractors, go pacemakers I say.

Further to what SexedTF'n said about wildcats.. I've read that wildcat headers are press bent. As far as I know pacemakers and RPW items have mandrel bends which is definately the way to go.
