I had a confusing chat with a Mitsubishi dealer today. I have started looking around for a lower Km's Wagon as my old girl is appraoching 200,000kms.
Link > Black VR wagon < (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.dealer_vehicle?)
I emailed the dealer on this car although being a VR it's nice but NOT really suitable as a courier car.
So the dealer called and we talked, he told me how wonderful the 380 is.... so I explained how wonderful Ford dealers thought the AU was as well. Anyway, I asked about LPG on any newer Wagon I looked to buy. The dealer dude told me not all 3.5's are LPG compatible! From what he was saying the lower models in the range are not..... Now he wasn't sitting across from me so didn't know I was blonde, but I did wonder. He started on the LPG thing when I told him I was probably more likely to settle for a lower priced ES on LPG than the VR. Was he twicken me to try and get me to look seriously at the VR...I wonder.

For once, you got one that actually knows something! VR/VR-X/Sports engines (163kW) are not gas compatible. I can't understand why they use different valve seals, which I think is the reason. Is it that LPG is not compatible with the exhaust. Don't know enough about this stuff to be more help. Ford also doesn't recommend gas on any other engine other than the e-gas model. Tell the taxi's that :bowrofl:
Most ES models are OK. Check out the SA goverment auctions for prices (www.auctions.sa.gov.au), you'll see dual fuel ES wagons there with < 50000km there

In the Magna 3rd gen series, all models with "N01" option on the data plate are LPG compatible.
Some models without the "N01" option on the data plate MAY be LPG compatible. To verify, confirm the cylinder head pad on the rocker cover surface on the RH end of the exhaust port side of each cylinder head is marked "LPG"

yeah, something (i.e. only one thing, and the rest is wrong). The guy who sold me mine taught me how to reset the auto trans in the back streets during the test drive! It worked, I bought the car!

He rang back today looking for a sale..... I drilled him(made a nice change to do the drilling) about the LGP thing and this is what he said. Hopefully now he realises not to brush me off as an easy sale.
