Some mods planned, I can't give away to much, as I don't really know my self. However, I will let you guys piece together the big picture.

I can't give you a lot of the pictures at once, because I don't have them.

riiiiight... if you dont know what mods or understand what your doing... then why are you doing it?

roller rockers = waste of time imo, more gains from ground cam with solid lifters.

How do you think new mods come to life???, if no one tries then nothing will happen, Good on you for trying Mrmacomouto.

Now go forth an conquer that astron

putting 2nd gen stuff in is not conquering anything. it's guaranteed to work...

doing something wacky like a crazy cam profile, or a cam profile with efi, or maybe head work such as porting or shaving the head is 'conquering' the astron.

i looked into a mild cam profile with standard ecu best i got was "maybe if it runs it will hunt at idle"

question to you guys is will a m6 head on a 1st gen efi with the flat top pistons even run with the large step up in compression

more questions i have a spare 1st gen here carbi i was thinking of plucking the head of and getting it shaved but is it worth it or just go a m6 cast, if it is worth the cost of shaving how much can you take off?

The compression shouldn't change to drastically, but I will be running 98 in it just in case. Got another cam here, Still can't decide if I want to get it ground or not...

Gotta fix the rear bumper and rear drivers side panel, a coat of paint and off I go.

hey mate i ran my engine in on the standard ecu with 10:1 compression and the 3000-7000rpm crow cam, and it ran fine. it produced 100hp atw with standard computer

$300:shock: he saw u coming didn't he. stagma got his cam and roller rockers for $35. for 3oo u could have bought a whole engine. would want the km's on that head to be low for that price. im in nth QLD where the prices up here are way higher than down there but i still wouldn't pay that much, but thats only me.

but i like the fact u haven't given up on the first gen's like most. Keep up the hard work hehe

Astron head (regardless of M stamping or condition) = ~$100
Cam + Rockers = ~$30

wouldn't pay anymore for it

I am not going to defend this purpose anymore, I was sick of buying cheap heads that had lots of wear from dirty oil, this one is next to perfect, so the money was worth it.

Anyway, the head.

It looks like it hasn't had it too hard. should be a good improvement for ya. Im about give my magna a facelift over the next few months but will take heaps of pics as i go.
The more pic's u can post up of what ur doing would be really handy for me later on:D
didn't mean to open a can of worms about the price paid (should of keep a lid on it). it's not like u 500 or more and the head does look in tip top shape.

take it all like a grain of salt, but with that said it's good to see someone else working on there first gen
