hey would a leaking rusted resi in my exhaust lead to my car filling up wif fumes from exhaust when my car is in park or idle with the widnows down, becuase it seems as though that is what been happening. how do u noe if you exhuast is leaking. does it make funny sounds.

judging by that post i think the exhaust fumes are going straight to your head lol i found that very hard to read.

Anyway, what kind of smells are you getting? petrol, rotten egg.

If its a petrol smell its either a hole or something could be loose, if its an egg smell your CAT is on its way out.

I remeber you told me you wanted to upgrade your exhaust soon yeah? I'd recommend investing into a full redback sytem in the very near future.

I don't think it would be worth fixing the stock and then getting a new exhaust later on.

But, there is a product on the market like a glue which can block up holes in mufflers, i'm not too sure about the rest of the exhaust system but it doesn't last very long. Its only a temporary fix.

mines got a 1 foot slit in it. if your worried about it...forget about it :bowrofl:

bugger fixing it.yeah i decided to get my exhaust done. i will be getting the full redback kit installed today at 1 getting pretty excited. it will set me back $350 intalled for the full kit.

decided yesterday, new something was wrong about the exhaust so i decided to use it as excuse.got the exhaust guy to look at it. he noticed a couple of holes, that was good enough for me. but just wanted to noe if the exhaust fumes were coming from those rusted spots

For roadworthy inspections, they usually check for exhaust leaks by holding a hand over the tailpipe. If its leaking, you may be able to hear where the leak is coming from. If it is not leaking, it should stall the engine.

Yeh go the redback system lenny, it wont let you down!!

Just throw a 4" chrome tip on the end of it though, trust me the sound will be ten times better!!!

Where are you getting it done for only $350 installed! And is it from the cat back and not just the muffler?

yeah i double checked that, thats wat i thought. its the complete 2 piece kit fromthe cat back. cos my resi's all rusted.i ask the guy to make sure that it gets replaced. its a small workshop in hoppers crossing called flexifit exhaust.im gonna hang around and watch him out put it on to make sure it is the actual 2 peice kit

My exhaust was leaking around the Cat flange due to some bolts vibrating loose. It sounded horrible. It was a very metallic "zzzzzzz" noise. Though the sound would depend on what kind of leak it is (big vs small) and where along the exhaust it is.

just got the redback fitted, dam so responsive, the droning btw 2000 and 4000 is getting a tad annoying,mb ut guess ill get use to it. no more flat spot. worth the $350. it was the complete 2 peice to. not just the muffler

i had a big hole in my exhaust on went the redback cat back system not loud enough gonna change the rear part put a barrel on the rear i may have a redback rear muffler for sale soon 2k old
