Hey all,
Recently connected up a water temperature gauge to my TR (bit ricey i know but i like it :)) and was just wondering what is "normal" for engine water temperature.
Usually my gauge sits between 90 and 100 degrees.
Can any1 shed some light?
Thanks

This is normal the normal temp, hence why not to use just plain water in the radiator/cooling system.

I know the thermostat opens between 89 to 92 degrees, depending on which brand you get. They all do the same thing basically, 89-92 degrees is bugger all difference.

Why do you call it ricey? i think its a great idea.. its better to monitor actual temperatures, rather than just 'hot' or 'cold'.
And yeh thats normal temp...:)

Hey josh, can i ask a few Q's?
1) Pictures?
2) Quick run down on installation? where did you run wires?
3) Time frame on installing one?

Sorry guys for late reply. Installation was fairly easy. (MECHANICAL WATER TEMP)
1. There is a massive nut that doesnt come off and has to go through the firewall so a fairly decent drill hole was required through the fire wall first. (Grommet can just fill the space)
2. I ran the main wire from the gauge down along the door seal and straight out to the engine bay and cut my radiator hose for the adapter just after the 2nd bend.
3. Just ran the illumination and ground wires the same way.
hope that sort of helps. Ill try and post pics asap
