i have went through the wiring diagram and all that i have seen on the forum. but yet im still stump for an answer. which wires do i splice into, inorder for me to hook up some footwell lights into a te exec, so when i open the door the lights go on. pictures would help heaps. i was reading up on the wiring diagram it saids b 29 pin 1, which one is that one. i'd rather do this mod myself instead of leaving it to the professionals

run it to the center light? that comes on when its positioned in the middle, so you wont need a switch either. Ive hooked up some white neons under the 2 front seats which light up the whole floor, looks slick :D

that's what i did. hooked up the lights from a verada and connected to the centre light, which i also used to hook up my verada door/map light. just run the wires up the pillars. there is a power wire running up the drivers pillar to operate the courtesy lamp. just splice into it so you can run a wire across the front of the headlining to the passenger side and one down to the drivers side. simple:D

is there an easier way beside running up the pillar, can i splice into any of the wires that are on the right of the driver side where all the internal fuses are ithink

Driver and passenger door switches perhaps? Snap off the door sill plates and unscrew the interior light door trigger switch (the little black button at the lower B-pillar). Then run a wire from the floor lamps, along the door sill and tap into the door switch wires. I'm sure there would a spot somewhere along that route to earth the negative too. Once the door sill plate is snapped back on, all wiring should be hidden from view.
I did this when I connected blue neons which I had placed hidden into my door map pockets. Looked cool when the door was open at night time because you would get a blue glow coming up the door trim. But yeah, this wiring method should definitely work.
I put a light recently in my ign key hole that lights up when I open the door, unlock the car etc, what I did was to splice into the 2 wires that run up the A pillar. it should also work with the footwell lights
This is how I did it.
