Just a thought on parras, like me im sure there are loads of people who want them but cant afford or want to spend that much ($400+) I had an idea to get the headlights to look kinda like them, would it be possible to place say two black rings inside the headlight without messing up the beams too much? I have access to some manufactured ones that can be custom made to any size, It would make the lights look like spots during the day but wouldnt look too good at night.

So is this possible? Legal? Stupid? Creative?..... Discuss

Ahhhh yes sorry, i didn't read the first post properly.
They might look ok during the day, but at night the light wouldn't reflect properly and it'd all look horrible!

Something tells me that any less than the real thing will look like crap, headlight protector and sticker alike.

You could probably paint the area around the reflectors black (to simulate the parras), but it might effect the performance of the lights.

Yes I have heard the fakes exsited but I have never seen one.

It is a bit funny though, we can afford to buy a 3rd gen but can't afford a pair of paras for $450.00. Not that I am praticularly attacking you here, but have some thought, why waste money on something mod to get the look when you can save up for it?

I just find it weird that people can afford fancy rims but not be willing to spend on a set of parras.

Give and take a bit, do less clubing, save up a bit more and at the same time wait for someone to sell them cheap here, if not on ebay. And best part is you know that this would be a more proper mod than trying to modify your original head lamps.

They are one of those things that you will hate forking out for, but a few weeks later when youve forgotten about the cash you just outlayed you will be so glad you spent the money.

It will reduce the performance of the headlights. And be illegal. And look crap.

Why bother - if you want less lighting performance, but looks fit parabolics :) At least its legal.

I agree with you there. I really want parras but i can't justify spending a heap of money on headlights.

yeh im also the same, ive had the chance to spend the $400 a few times, but just seems pointless as the parras lighting quality aint as good as the standards, but do give the car a mean look, ill just wait untill i find a pair cheap enough, i would rather spend the money on something to gain performance!!!

my vote: it will look even crappier than stock headlights and would downgrade your magna.

Well ask around for a pair of BMW's headlights and ask how much they cost? Or lets make it fair and ask about Holden's or even a Toyaota corolla new headlights.

I have put some thought about it. I have agreed it is expensive! But look at it another way, you still can sell them off ultimately. lol (good investment) you dont loose much.

In other words, how important are these to you as a mod compared to other mods?

I didn't need fancy rims so yeah, in came the paras when there was someone selling them reasonable prices here.

But modding the original headlights wont do any good as you devalue them plus cost it to make them illegal.

Just spent it once and get over it. (honestly)
You dont like them down the road can always sell them.

On top of it, I find them hard to come by at $400.00 when you have the cash everyone else wants it on Ebay or here competiting for the best price in the forums. So I say if you get a pair at $450, is reasonable.

cheers!

i dont see wat the big fuss is regarding para's i have never said to anyone "wow look at his headlights they r so cool"

i think keep the ones u have... if u have a spare $400 laying around and cannot think of another thing to buy with it spend it on para's.
