Hello,
I have a 99 diamante (verada). I just purchased a new abs speed sensor for the right rear. I was looking over the service manual and it is not really specific on changing this. The manual shows a picture of the rear speed sensor and it looks like the electrical harness may be some where in the body of the car (it does not show or say where in the manual). I was looking at other cars and some are under the seats, can this be where it is? I can search for removing the seat if that is where it is..... Just curious if anybody has ever done this? For replacing the sensor itself, do I just remove the nut, remove the old unit, and pop the new one in? Does the air gap matter? Do I need a special gauge?

Jacking up the rear wheel and removing the wheel should be sufficient working space, or do I need to remove the complete brake-hub?

Thanks for all the help!

Cheers!

That is a critical component. I would suggest getting that particular job done at the dealer or a good mechanics. If you are to attempt it, ring the factory support line for advise.

As lomg as the units are identical just unbolt and bolt in the new one. I had an occassion to remove mine to work on the hand brake mechanism. Sweet as.

Hope this helps
