Hi,

Im going to get some new wheels for my car, im just not sure if they will fit..
I know the magna is 7.5 and the wheels i want are 8.0 x 18", the guy said they would fit but im not sure if they are legal etc..
Any advice would be appreciated..

Also any ideas on which wheels to get?

i dunno which magna got 7.5

but u can definetely go and put 8" wide rims

dont forget, dont go overboard with the width of the tires! or you will get scrubbing and all thaT!

i think most people got 235 !

235/40 ZR 18's on 18x8" rims is more than enough - probably not legal (i know mine definitely aren't)

but hey - oh well!!

They would be legal if the car came with 16inch rims in the first place.

Youre allowed 2 inchs on top of factory standards..

yeh thats true bain. pity for us, ours come with the good 'ol stock 15" rimers. hehe. ill soon be upgrading to an awesome set of 18's. getin sik of the ever so small 17's. lol.

so to answer your questions magnatjsports. yes thy will fit fine, but as said, a picky cop will realise that ur car came with 15" rims stock, therefore you are only allowed a maximum of 17" rims. think this also may screw up insurance.

i think legally you are allowed to go 2" taller and 1 inch wider!!! or a max of 7" wide!!!

but the thing is you can fit 235 on 7" wide

so why go 8" wide?

i went 8" wide cos i could - the tyre fits nicer - also had less tyre roll on an 8" rim as opposed to a 7" rim

so yes - i know i know - my rims are bad - but i dont care - i wouldn't have them any other way!!

if your in victora then youll need to do some checking.
Along with all the other shit road laws Bracks has introduced he has a new one concerning aftermarket wheels.
apparently the entire tyre, rubber and all is only allowed to be 2 cm greater in size than the original stock interceptor and rubber.
This means than when getting a larger mag the rubber must be a slim line to fit in with the new laws.
although cops are pretty stupid and wouldnt have a clue anyway.

i thought it was to do with insurance and not road laws like my insurance will only let me go 1" wider then stock so for me i can go to 7" wide

What ive found with cops is as long as the rest of your car is legal and there arent any other defects and you arent being a dickhead they really dont care about being an inch over right tyre size.

Its also good to act stupid
