Hey guys, this last week the car has felt a bit strange when driving, like a tire has been flat or something just isn't sitting even.

Anyway so I put up with it for a couple of days, checked all the tires, no leaks, and not flat.

The only thing I can think might be the issue is a slightly loose wheel somewhere, as I never did the criss cross style when putting them on initially, and haven't found the need to check since.

However, driving back from work today, I could feel a constant "bump" when on the accelerator, and progressively getting faster when driving faster, which makes me think it may just be a loose wheel.

I've knocked them a bit with a kick to see any movement, couldn't find any though. I've had to adjust for the current situation with my driving style. The car has always had a slight drift towards the left, which may have been the result of me not placing the wheels on correctly.

I'm going to take them all off and have a look today, but can anyone think of any other possible reasons?

Axel issues? cv joints stuffed? anything? I would appreciate it.

I'm just starting to get a bit worried a wheel might fall off while I'm driving...

I would jack the car up with one wheel off the ground at a time and check for any loose wheels.

I had a shocking vibration which turned out to be a wheel not put on correctly.
If not take it in for maybe a suspenion check?

dude, as said, jack up the car to test for loose wheels, but sounds like alignment? maybe you hit the kerb or something recently? locked up the brakes flatspotted the tyres?

take it into a tyre place and get them to align and balance the tyres, [but check for a flatspot aswell]

I did have an instance a couple months back, doing about 70 and had to slam brakes only, skidded for about 50metres or so, however it didn't feel bumpy after that.

Possibly kerb, not 100%

The car is due for a service, and rego and new brakes (really badly need new brakes). The other thing is, the front right brake pad is either worn out or something is wrong as I hear screeching when I hit the brakes. Maybe this could have cause the actual internal wheel to have a flat spot?

Either way it's a tad scary driving it. I'm gonna jack it up tonight take everything off and put it back on and see how we go.

It also could be the suspension..it has been "very loose" to say the least, feel like the cars gonna take off and fly..lol

Car needs a lot of work, and a lot of money I don't want to spend..service, rego, brakes, tyres, possibly a new radiator, so much! Will see how I go, thanks for the input.

Check for flat spots or bubbles in the tyre... and also for punctures... if theres a fairly large screw head sticking out of the tyre it can change the 'feel' enough to notice...

Aside from that.. check the wheels are evenly tightened..

ate a DIY oil change is About $40
Putting in new brake pads is $40
Spark plugs $23
Do that man and see how she goes.
Having metal on metal contact is not just scary but its not safe man..

Yer I know Paul. The car tends to head left when I brake as well, as I can feel the right front slipping...

rah why now, moving out and xmas, money is going fast...

I can help you do some of that crap to your car if your really desperate...
But take the front wheel off and check the brake pads, if its metal to metal wear id just get a rotor from the wreckers and get it machined

Found the problem (front right was tight and not loose like I thought).

Upon taking it off, I was looking for bubbles, low and behold, a screw/bolt the thickness of one of my fingers has managed to work it's way inside my tyre!

I was due for new front tyres anyway! lol

Does anyone know of any tyre stores open on Sundays? Work tomorrow and all day sat some I'm pretty much screwed, and will have to wait till Monday to get it done. I really don't want to continue driving the car with the bolt in there..

If anyone could let me know of any stores open on Sundays that would be great!

I would say you will need to use your spare man....
Did you have a look at the brakes while you were at it?

Yeah, couldn't really see any problems, then again I didn't know what to look for LOL

But nah, definitely in need of a change, as I'm having to brake about 50m before hand lol...

Just look at the rotor side on...im pretty sure if you see no meat on the brake pads you will need new ones!

Well gotta pay rego today.

Got the two fronts replaced with 80% tread second hand good years.

As for the brakes. It'll be ok for another week or so, I'm on holidays for 2weeks after xmas, so I'll probably do a DIY job. Only thing left is a service!

Service it at the same time as brakes... kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

While the oil's draining, do ya brakes... etc.
