I was having a bit of trouble with something under my car making a horrible scraping noise whenever I went over a speed bump or similar.

For ages I couldn't work out what it was - thought it was that my car was too low at first, but didn't think it was THAT low... Thought the undercarriage may have been loose or missing a screw, but that was all done up okay...

Then decided one day to see how it looked without the front mudflaps... And voila... No more scraping noise anymore.

I actually think it looks a lot smoother, too. What do you think? Was this a stupid idea?

(I am a girl, after all - don't laugh!)

Yeah would like to get clear sideys, that's a coming attraction!

As for coding, am putting on some oil stuff to make it look nice & new & black - sexy!

I'm not a really big fan of coding, but I have to admit it does look pretty good on other guys's cars!

Looks better without them, and if I was you I'd be taking them off too.

My uncle's got a similar problem with his 2003 Holden Caprice. It's only the stock ride height (which is actually suprisingly low), yet the mudflaps scrape pretty badly over many speedbumps.

And while your car will look better with the plastic polished up, it'd look even better colour coded :)

I like the Magnas without the mudflaps, however if you are driving down alot of roads where there is or has been road works or even rocks, I would leave them on. I had a 01 WRX and had mudflaps on it, the guys who didnt and went on a cruise with me ended up with stopchips up the side of their cars. As the Magna is a front wheel drive, and the WRX is mostly a FWD this is something to think about.

I to like the non coding, I have a Sable Black on Silver Solara, I think it looks sweet.

Well thats my 2c.

how do you remove the mud flaps

I wouldn't be too embarrassed - I have no idea, my boy done it - but I think it's just a matter of getting down on all fours & having a look at the bottom of the wheel arch - you'll probably find there are a few screws holding it on that simply need to be removed.

Hehe :)

OK OK! So how might one go about getting their sides colour coded?

If its the standard black rubber ones, just unscrew from the wheel arch. If moulded hard
plastic type, unscrew from the wheel arch and also gently pry off (as mitsu may have
glued it to the body as well.).

The whole point of those mud flaps is to protect ur car so why take them off and then two years down the track have massive scratch marks all over the side of ur car, and by the way kel gurl love ur rims I have the same set on my TH magna.
