Yesterday, I scraped my rear right guard as I was reversing. Put nice big scratches in it.

I will need to get this repaired, but heard that the Pewter Silver colour is a pain to match. Is that right?

Anybody had experience with this where they had this colour matched perfectly. I

I don't really want them to paint the whole side in order for the colour match. I only want the rear guard painted on an edge to edge basis.

thanks

Metallic colours are harder to match, but by no means impossible.

As is often said, any panel beater worth his title should be able to match any colour 100%.

If a panel beater tells you he'll have to paint the entire side, go elsewhere. It might cost you a little more but in the long run it will be worth it.

I had "Chips Away" respray and blend the paint on my bootlid when some low life gouged a badge off. The colour is Fusion (metallic gold/orange). In general, it looks very good. I can see some minor difference in the surface "peel" if the light is coming from the right angle and you know what to look for, otherwise you wouldn't know it had been redone. They sanded and filled the scratches, painted the sanded area and a bit more to blend, all for about $175.
