hi there
just wondering who has done a efi conversion. i know theres heaps in the 1st gens but not too many in the 2nd gens.
i have a tr carby manual. i have bought a tr efi auto to change over the parts. just wondering if someone can help in some questions. i have the conversion guide, but i would like to know a couple of other things.
as i will be doing the conversion in the next 3 weeks. so when i do do it i spend a weekend on it and get it done rite.
any help appreciated

The carby motor from a TR is not the same as the EFI. The EFI motor has 9.2:1 compression ratio, carby 8.8:1 also no knock sensor.

although i did use an efi block when putting my motor in, you dont have to i know someone who put a carby block in their efi tr when their motor blew and everything hooked up and ran fine.

what do u mean by efi block, is that where the engine mount sits on the transmission?

What they mean is that the carby & EFI cyclinder heads are different.
The carby motor from a TR is not the same as the EFI. The EFI motor has 9.2:1 compression ratio, carby 8.8:1 also no knock sensor
If by going by this you would also need to swap the heads over as well ?
Also most of these magna's were built with EFi not carby as much.

Carby heads will work with the EFI system.

dude the heads are similar and can be interchanged as long as the water ports are the same shape. if i get around to it i may take a look at my carby block and see if it does have a spot for a knock sensor to screw in. may have a blanking plate or something over the hole
